Yes, we've dropped off radar haven't we? I'd like to apologize as I would've had this update out by this weekend had it not been for me catching a lovely sickness that has plagued me till thursday.
However, I digress, because the most important news is that projects are going slow, and since I've had to refix my computer I lost quite a few things. This means that Emerald will be put on hold indefinitely.
Now, don't fret', I'm working on an action plan for how I'm going to handle films in the future, but this will mean that AVCOM Productions will not be releasing any first party films any time soon.
Before you start throwing whatever glassed-beverages you have at the screen, this does not mean we're shutting down. I'm still going to be heavily involved in third party projects with people such as ImmortalHD, Insomniac225 & Matt Eades along with Craig Kesicke at Angsty Studios. You might be wondering why I am referring specifically to these three groups/people, and there is a good reason for that. I'm working on three separate projects for these groups. Well, heres where you'll see what I'm going to be doing for the future!
AVCOM PRODUCTIONS CGI LEAD FOR HOST
HOST is a really interesting project for me from a CGI standpoint. While this is a Halo-Machinima, its completely non-halo canon; therefore I do not have to abide by the rules of the Haloverse or anything along those lines. This means that already I have to design and create new material ground up. I'd like to thank jtdoepke for his creation of the ship used primarily in HOST.
The second part different about HOST is that there aren't any overly complex particle scenes, which means that this is the first project where I have alot of polish time on my hands rather then animation. The result? The visual quality of HOST will be diversely different and perhaps alot better then what I usually create. I hope to learn outta this is more visual trickery to make things seem nicer without the cost of processing power. For more about HOST visit Immortal's Youtube Channel or the HOST Machinima.Com Thread!
And for those that don't believe me about that visuals thing? See for yourself:
Next brings me onto a more audio-based project:
AVCOM PRODUCTIONS SOUND DESIGN LEAD FOR CRY HAVOC
This project goes back to the roots of where AVCOM began from. We started doing sound for other production groups but as time went on we fended for ourselves. But recently going back to the true roots of doing different aspects of film for other people has brought us back to sound. As far as sound goes, it'll be high quality and award-nominated (hopefully :P). Check out Cry Havoc at Insomniac225's youtube page or a thread I"ll eventually link here. But I'd like to point one thing out, Cry Havoc ain't the usual machinima flick and from what I've done, it seems like its own style ;)
Finally, what could I be doing with Angsty Studios?
AVCOM PRODUCTIONS Something Lead for Angsty Project?
Yeah kids, I wasn't gonna reveal this one too quickly, but keep an eye on the Angsty Studios website and you might just figure out what we're up to ;).
We like to keep you guys teased, and so theres the catch 22 there people. Until next, keep it clean!
P.S
On another note, ODST has a much better narrative then Halo 3.
